Subject: Announcing a New NSF-SRC Solicitation

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to call your attention to the new NSF - SRC solicitation on Energy-Efficient Computing: from Devices to Architectures (E2CDA).

E2CDA will support new research to set the stage for the next paradigm of computing, suitable for applications from mobile devices to data centers.

Details on the solicitation can be found in:

http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2016/nsf16526/nsf16526.htm?WT.mc_id=USNSF_27&WT.mc_ev=click

The solicitation will consider proposals that address one or both of the following research paths:

  * Disruptive system architectures, circuit microarchitectures, and attendant device and interconnect technology aimed at achieving the highest level of computational energy efficiency for general purpose computing systems
  * Revolutionary device concepts and associated circuits and architectures that will greatly extend the practical engineering limits of energy-efficient computation
The total amount of funds anticipated for this solicitation is up to $4,000,000 per year subject to the availability of funds.

NSF and SRC plan to host a webinar on Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 1PM to 2:30 PM Eastern time, to discuss the E2CDA solicitation. Details on the webinar will be provided in the near future.

Please send any questions you have regarding the solicitation to the Cognizant Program Officers by close of business, Monday, January 18, and we will do our best to address your questions in the course of the webinar.

Sincerely,

Tom Theis Jon Candelaria
