Serving Life: Film Screening + Discussion

Gateway Library , in conjunction with Mason Reads, University Life, the Film and Media Studies Program and the Film and Video Studies Program, will present a film screening and discussion of the film SERVING LIFE on Thursday, October 22 at 3pm in the Johnson Center Cinema.

This film documents an extraordinary hospice program in which hardened criminals care for dying fellow inmates. Narrated and executive produced by Academy AwardŽ-winner Forest Whitaker, the film takes viewers inside Louisiana’s maximum security prison at Angola, where the average prison sentence is more than 90 years. Focused on themes of criminal justice, race, and nursing, as well as compassion, forgiveness and empathy.
