The JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) program will be visiting George Mason University for the Fall Career Fair on Thursday, October 8th. The event will begin at 11:00am in Dewberry Hall at the Johnson Center. This is an exciting opportunity for students interested
in teaching in Japan as JET is the largest program for English instructors in Japan and one of the largest teaching exchange programs in the world. The JET program allows participants to live in Japan while learning about Japan’s educational system and gaining
valuable teaching, communication, and cross cultural skills. In 2015, JET sent 85 new participants from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to join a total of nearly 4,800 current participants throughout Japan now. Each year, JET sends about 1,000 young American
professionals to work as assistant teachers of English in Japanese public schools. A small percentage of participants work in local government offices on international relations projects and as translators. In the past, JET has selected many candidates from
George Mason and are looking forward to meeting new potential employees.
