In this case the problem is that this address is my working address for a poster i am building for the York Doctoral Symposium and I use Eclipse for MASON and the address that is normally used is the MASON top directory. When I changed to this all is well.

The "spurious" message is MASON telling you that it got an unexpected error from JMF.  Usually these things are inexplicable, but this one is not.  It looks like JMF is trying to open (probably create) the files Untitled.mov and Untitled.nonstreamable.mov, but it cannot.  This is more than likely because the directory C:\Users\Your%20PC\Documents\My%20Research\Documents\papers\YDS%20Poster15\images does not exist.  Any chance this is the case?  A spelling error or something?
