I’m an MIT doctoral candidate working on a project pertaining to FBI, CIA, NSA, and the broader intelligence community’s 1970s-1980s efforts to subvert the Freedom of Information Act and other popular transparency efforts while at the same
time attempting to maintain an unimpeded ability to conduct domestic surveillance of U.S. citizens.
I’m looking for a student researcher to assist me in this project by photographing the contents of specified folders and boxes in a collection held at GMU Special Collections & Archives. I’m especially interested in materials in roughly
20 boxes, but if the arrangement works out well, I’d be interested in extending the work to additional boxes. $12 an hour.
