NIH SBIR/STTR Grant Workshop, March 16, GMU Manassas
NSF SBIR/STTR Grant Workshop, March 17, GMU Fairfax
CIT is pleased to collaborate with George Mason University to present a full day workshop on the National Institute of Health (NIH) SBIR/STTR funding programs
on March 16 in Manassas and on a full day session on the National Science Foundation SBIR/STTR programs on March 17 in Fairfax. Attendees can elect to also attend the March 18 "Commercialization Planning & Budget Prep" Session at GMU Fairfax campus at no additional
cost. Just $40 for university researchers, postdocs and graduate students.
SBIR and STTR funding can be used by entrepreneurial minded university faculty who currently have or are planning to create a small business. SBIR and
STTR are also excellent sources of funding for PostDocs and graduate students who may want to use the funding to continue their work after they exit the university.
SBIR/STTR programs provide $150K - $1.5M+ in early stage non-dilutive R&D funding and have been described as the most important source of early stage R&D
funding in the US. 11 participating federal agencies use this program to fund early stage technology development that will help them meet their missions. The NIH programs provide over $600M each year to startup, early stage, and other small technology firms.
With a deadline of early April and September, this workshop is timed to help you learn about and write a compelling NIH SBIR or STTR proposal. The NSF programs provide over $160M each year through 9 broad topic areas that are geared towards the small business
identifying a technical hurdle and a large market opportunity. The next NSF deadlines are in June. Learn how to plan for, write, and apply for SBIR/STTR. Come to this workshop and be prepared! CIT’s free mentoring, proposal development support, $50K SBIR/STTR
grant match, and other support programs will also be presented.
