Welcome back!

Students and faculty, it is going to be another great meeting of the GMU Chapter of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)! The next monthly meeting will be held this Thursday, January 29, 2014 at 3pm in Research Hall 161.

The meeting is for those with any interest in the fields of science and technology related to geography, engineering, or image science. If you are a member of ASPRS, that is great, but if not, no problem!

The leadership of the GMU ASPRS chapter would like to extend membership to university students and faculty who might have an interest in spatial technology and analysis, from any engineering, sciences, or social science backgrounds. There is no fee to join the campus chapter, and membership is open to any university member regardless of course level (grad/undergrad), or academic program.

Because this is the first meeting of the new semester, there are no scheduled presentations. This leaves time available for students and professors to meet and mingle and learn about projects. The meeting will open with a reintroduction to the ASPRS Organization and our Chapter and Forum, followed by short ad-hoc presentations about the research interests and proposed fields of study for the meeting attendees.

Students are encouraged to present current research or interesting coursework assignments at meetings to practice presentation skills and get constructive feedback.

Presented work can be about any science or engineering topic.

Faculty members are similarly encouraged to present research interests, contact potential guest speakers and update students on research topics that might be relevant to their studies.

REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED! This event will be catered by Panera! First come, first serve!
