Hello, everyone.

Please see the message below from Prof. Alison Landsberg.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is not currently holding a graduate assistantship.

Please respond directly to Prof. Landsberg.

Best,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,
Here's the message to circulate to the PhD students;

I am looking for an instructor for a section of History 125: Introduction to World History for this fall.  The section meets TR 10:30-11:45am.  Here's the catalogue description for the course:

Analytical approach to world history overview that surveys major features of principal existing civilizations of world, as originally formed and as altered by key global processes including forces of modernity.

Fulfills general education requirement in western civilization/world history.

More instructive, though, would be to look at the current and archived syllabi on our departmental website:

If you are interested, please send me an email ([log in to unmask]) and attach your CV (which should include TA and teaching experience).

Many thanks,
Alison

I think it might be a good opportunity for one of the Ph.D. students. That said, can you please give a course title (not just the number) when you send me the message to forward?

Thanks.
Cindy

Sure, let’s try the PhD students.  The other option is to have Gail Hook do an online section, but the best option is to staff this particular section.  Nicole is out of town, so send Cindy or Sara send the announcement.  If we don’t get a bite by early next week, I’ll contact Gail.

Hi Brian,
I contacted Michael Hill, but he's booked up. I don't really have any other leads. I've been in dialogue with Stephen Santelli about the evening class, but I don't know what to do about the TR section. Do you have any ideas? I was considering sending a message out to our PhD students. What do you think?
Take care,
Alison

Hi Alison,

I know you’re out, but was wondering if we have any leads on the two 125 sections.  Our 100/125 enrollments have shot up in the last two weeks, making it more important that we staff these sections.

Thanks,
Brian
