Coordinating Council for Women in History (CCWH) - Dissertation and Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Coordinating Council for Women in History (CCWH) offers three awards to doctoral candidates. The Prelinger Award is also open to postdoctoral candidates.
Catherine Prelinger Award for a female scholar whose academic path has not followed the traditional path of uninterrupted study. The research project should be historical in nature, not necessarily
in a history department. Applicants must hold either ABD status or the Ph.D. at the time of application.
Award amount: $20,000

Berks Graduate Student Fellowship for a graduate student completing a dissertation in any field of history in a history department at a U.S. institution. Applicants must have passed to ABD status
by the time of application.
Award amount: $1,000

Wells Graduate Student Fellowship for a graduate student completing a historical dissertation that interrogates race and gender, not necessarily in a history department. Applicants must be a graduate
student in any department of a U.S. institution and must have passed to A.B.D. status by the time of application.

All applicants must be current CCWH members.
Applicants can only apply for one CCWH sponsored graduate student grant each year.
