I am very happy to announce that SCHEV has approved two new undergraduate majors for the Volgenau School! As of January 2015, we will offer BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering (ME) and in Cyber Security Engineering (CYSE).

The CYSE degree is the first of its kind in the world. You can read more about it in the article on the school’s web site (http://volgenau.gmu.edu).

More information about the ME degree will be coming soon as well. This degree is important for expanding academic and research opportunities and for raising our profile as an engineering school.

Details on degree requirements for both can be found in the online catalog (http://catalog.gmu.edu).

Thanks to everyone who contributed to designing these degrees and getting them approved! Particular thanks go to Oscar Barton and Peggy Brouse, who led these two efforts.
