Dear students, The owner of a small glass production facility near Warrenton, VA is seeking help of an electrical engineering student to figure out the computer hookup in the loop of furnace control. He needs someone to look at the following technical problem: "The digital computer is to run heating ramp and soak programs on the small glass furnace. Once the furnace is on it stays on until I have to do maintenance on it (replace resistance elements that have burned out, etc). It will stay between 2100 and 2600 degrees until something breaks down and needs repair. It is very simple but I am not sure where the wires connect on the control relay which receives the input from the computer based on the thermocouple readings. The control relay engages the power relay accordingly. It is either on or off. Originally it was set up 3 phase by someone else (in Costa Rica) but now is single phase. It is all ready I just don't know where the wires go. I think that a somewhat advanced student could help me out with this, I do not think that it necessarily needs to be a professor." He is looking for someone who is perhaps living not far from Warrenton who night be available to help with the problem (with some compensation). If someone is interested and feels capable to help, they should contact Mr Greg Gannon at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or tel 540 347 9404 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Could you please let me know if you contact Mr. Gannon, what kind of response you receive from him? Thank you so much!
