Subject: Two Options: MLK Event or Lecture on Africans in India

Good morning everyone:

I know you have double-booked before, haven't you?! Two wonderful events are taking place on the same night, Thursday January 30th. Take your pick, but please attend one or both. And encourage your students and colleagues to choose too!

1) Evening of Reflection of the Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
University Life, African and African American Studies, and the Office of Alumni Affairs are sponsors.
Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EST) in Dewberry Hall Fairfax, VA

Also, a volunteer signup to "serve" the community in the spirit of Dr. King is

2) On January 30th at 6:30PM, there will be a lecture about the exhibit, "Africans in India," with a reception to follow. Center for Global Studies hopes to have a strong turn-out, especially since the exhibit is relevant to so many departments around campus. If any of you will be teaching courses this semester where the lecture might be relevant, please promote it. If needed, the Center will send you some fliers to distribute, or provide a brief introduction to your classes about the program.

Center for Global Studies, Provost's Office, and African and African American Studies are sponsors.

If you know of any students or staff interested in attending, please encourage them to RSVP at the link below so Bianca can order the appropriate amount of catering.
