New Class: HIST 796--Lecture Development for Teaching
Instructor: Dr. Susan Schulze
Semester: Spring 2014

This 1-credit course, which will meet on several Monday evenings during the spring semester, is targeted towards students who hope to teach at the college (or community college) level.  The sessions will target the production of a portfolio of lectures geared to preparing students for the first semester of employment as faculty in the college or university setting. The portfolio, to be produced by the student, will contain at least 2 finished lectures along with a complement of lecture drafts.  The combination of lectures and drafts would provide a broad framework for a full semester of the typical introductory-level or art history course.  In the development of the lectures and drafts for the portfolio I would like to accommodate at least one opportunity for each student to practice delivering a lecture in real-time.

Students wishing to take the course should contact Nicole Roth ([log in to unmask]) as soon as possible. The course number is for independent study.
