Just a reminder that the DC Historical Studies Conference will take place Nov. 14-17, 2013 in DC. Please pass on this email to your colleagues and students interested in DC Studies. We're going to have a bunch of great panels, including some of my favorite topics: gentrification and DC Home Rule. On the evening of Thursday, November 14th, Kate Masur from Northwestern University will give the keynote on "Black Politics in Civil War Washington: What Spielberg's Lincoln Didn't Tell You" at GWU's Jack Morton Auditorium in the Media and Public Affairs Building, 805 21st Street, NW. On Friday and Saturday, panels will take place at the Historical Society of DC (Carnegie Library, 801 K Street, NW).
