Professor Rosenberger,
I am currently in search of qualified students or other individuals to assist me in a survey project that spans across the country. I am hoping a couple of students in the statistics department at George Mason University might be interested.
My name is Sergio Vaca and I am a statistical consultant working out of Arlington Virginia. My background is completely in the field of statistics; I earned my bachelor's degree in statistics from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and my master's degree in biostatistics from California State University East Bay. I have been an independent statistical consultant for approximately 3 years and have worked with clients in the business, medical, and educational fields. My client for this project is the quick-service restaurant Elevation Burger www.facebook.com/ElevationBurger<http://www.facebook.com/ElevationBurger>. If you are unaware of them, they have a few locations near to George Mason University and in locations across the country. What distinguishes them from competitors is the grass-fed, 100% organic beef and 100% organic bacon they serve. The purpose of the project is to better understand who the ideal guest is for this brand at each location/region, and to understand the traffic patterns of these guests.
A major part of this project requires that guests be surveyed at each Elevation Burger location and unfortunately, I personally am unable to reach all locations within a reasonable time period. Data integrity is of most importance for this project, so we are in search of individuals who are familiar with concepts such as random sampling and bias, and want to get a taste of survey fieldwork.
Surveying will begin November 4th and end November 18th of this year (2 weeks). Students who participate will be paid an hourly rate of $15 and can expect to work for 5 to 10 hours a week to collect the data. As a bonus, Elevation Burger will make the compiled dataset available to participants for any school related project. Any interested students can follow up with me through email ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) by this Friday, October 25th, to get further information. Feel free to forward this email to students. Thank you for your time Professor Rosenberger.
