Mount Vernon 2014 Fellowship Program
Supporting Research on the Life, Leadership, and
Legacy of George Washington
I trust that this email finds you enjoying the summer and anticipating a terrific school year ahead. At George Washington’s Mount Vernon, we are completing construction
of the new Fred. W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington which will open on September 27. At that time, we will also welcome our first group of residential fellows, seven scholars who were selected and announced as the
inaugural class of fellows at this state-of-the-art new library.
We are now accepting applications for the next class of fellowships to begin in the fall of 2014. Below
and attached is information that we hope you will consider and also share with friends and colleagues who you believe may be interested in this exciting and important offering.
If a fellowship at Mount Vernon does not fit your plans for 2014-2015 we hope you will keep us in mind in future years. And if you would be interested in research using this remarkable new library without a fellowship, we would be happy to facilitate your engagement
with our library staff.
Respectfully,

Stewart D. McLaurin, Vice President
The Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington
