The Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP) solicits proposals for the summer semester of 2013. URSP gives undergraduates an authentic research, creative, or scholarly experience under the guidance of a mentor. Students may receive financial support and/or academic credit for their projects. There are two options available for summer:
The Office of Student Scholarship, Creative Activities, and Research (OSCAR) requests nominations for the 2013 OSCAR Mentoring Excellence Award and the 2013 OSCAR Student Excellence Award.
The OSCAR Mentoring Excellence Award ($3000/mentor) recognizes and rewards outstanding Mason employees who mentor undergraduate students in research and creative activities and foster a culture of student scholarship in support of Mason’s Students as Scholars initiative. All current Mason community members (e.g. faculty, staff, or graduate students) are eligible. For more information, click here: http://oscar.gmu.edu/fac-staff/oscar-mentor-award.cfm.
The OSCAR Student Excellence Award ($500/student) honors outstanding Mason undergraduate students who have engaged in research, scholarly and creative activities. All current full-time Mason undergraduate students are eligible. For more information, click here: http://oscar.gmu.edu/students/OSCAR-Student-Excellence-Award.cfm.
OSCAR welcomes nominations from all disciplines. Nominations for both awards are due by March 1. Feel free to contact [log in to unmask] for additional questions.
