The Center for Global Education (CGE) will accept online applications for these programs until this Friday, April 13:

[log in to unmask]"> Italian Language Study in FLORENCE AND ELBA Walk like a Medici in La Bella Toscana with Modern and Classical Languages professor Abigail Pare for four or six weeks while learning (or improving) your Italian language. Open to Italian language beginners, you'll have ample time to enjoy the “historical cafés” (i caffe storici) 
in which the city’s artists and writers used to gather. This program also fulfills the general education literature requirement.

[log in to unmask]"> Introduction to Classical Music in ASSISI  Fulfill your Fine Arts general education requirement (Music 101) in just two weeks this summer while living La Dolce Vita (the sweet life) in Assisi, Italy’s most beautiful medieval city. Led by Professor Mark Bergman from Mason’s School of Music, students are granted free admission to all festival events, with exposure to live music concerts taking place throughout the city and unprecedented access to the performers.

Led by professor Kwame Boakye-Agyei from Mason’s Environmental Science 
and Public Policy department, this program’s participants will engage in grass
roots community development in Senegal’s Ecovillage system by integrating 
principals of sustainability with cultural, economical, social, and environmental 
planning. Together, the student and faculty on this program create a learning 
community where remarkable educational environments facilitate real transform
ative intellectual and personal development.

Associate Professor Dr. Chris Parsons, after crossing the 
Drake Passage students will encounter 
different Antarctic environments in the South Shetland 
Islands, the western Antarctic Peninsula, and 
Weddell Sea!

MOBILIZE IS TONIGHT 
This evening a representative from CGE will speak briefly about our programs offering CONF and GLOA credits abroad before a 5 p.m. screening of "How to Start a Revolution," a documentary film on the work of Gene Sharp. INTERNATIONAL WEEK IS NEXT WEEK 
One week from today from 4:30pm-6:30pm in SUB 1 Room 3A is the second annual Side By Side Panel Presentation by alumni of CGE's short-term programs in the Philippines and Cambodia. Hear from your fellow students on their overall experiences, unique insights learned, and the impact global education has made on them academically, professionally and personally. Also, this year the always-popular International Dance Competition is a (free) ticketed event.  You can pick up your ticket(s) at the Office of Student Involvement (The Hub). Students, faculty and staff can get 4 tickets per person with a valid Mason ID while they last. Don’t wait too long to reserve your seat!
