A New Year Reminder on Paperwork
We have several audits coming up so we thought it might be a timely new year
reminder to call your attention to a few procedural points that are
important to the smooth flow of information but are also important to
auditors.  So ....

*	If someone leaves Mason, please be sure to terminate them in a
timely fashion, including adjunct, student wage, and non-student wage.

*	Please get your paperwork to HR & Payroll on time.

*	Don't forget to terminate the person's access to ...

*	Mason credit cards
*	Buildings, laboratories, etc.
*	University equipment
*	Parking
*	Library materials

Mason Participates in Another Career Fair to Help Unemployed Veterans and
Military Spouses
On January 13th, Mason participated in the Military Spouse Career Forum
hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the D.C. Department of Employment
Services and the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan
Area. About 2,000 job seekers attended the event held at the Walter E.
Washington Convention Center.

Mason's participation in the Hiring Our Heroes initiative supports the
university's goal of helping veterans and transitioning military families
find employment in our area. To date, Mason has participated in several
careers fairs in the DC metropolitan area that cater to this initiative.
