The***Center for Global Education* <http://globaled.gmu.edu/> will begin taking applications on December 5, 2011 for the Spring 2013 Semester Program in Russia*: **http://globaled.gmu.edu/programs/semester/russia.html* For a full spring semester in Moscow and/or St. Petersburg, George Mason undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Humanities and Social Science will have the opportunity to study alongside Russian students at the *Higher School of Economics (HSE)* <http://www.hse.ru/lingua/en/>. Here are just 6 examples of over 15 different courses that will be offered: --Economic Sociology of Popular Finance --The Social History of Collective Identities: Nations, Peoples and Religions in Modern Europe --Ethnic problems in post-Soviet space --Islam and nationalism in Eurasia --Internet, New Media and Popular Culture in Russia --Sociopolitical Institutions and Emerging of Democratic Systems A FIPSE fund from U.S. Department of Education will cover the cost of international travel and a daily allowance for program participants.
