She will be traveling to Alabama soon, taking > much-needed supplies with her. Although all of her loved ones are > accounted for in the aftermath of the tornadoes, she is responding to > the tremendous need of her home state. At this point, the victims of > this tragedy need the very basics. > *The Women and Gender Studies Center, JC 240K, will serve as a > drop-off spot for donated items*. Donations being accepted at this > location include diapers, slightly used and new clothing for all ages, > shoes, towels, blankets, boxes, and tape (to package it all up). > Toiletries are in great demand such as -- tampons, sanitary pads, > adult diapers, toilet paper, razors, soap, tooth paste, toothbrushes, > deodorant, sunscreen, baby wipes, baby powder, and lotion. > The estimated 211 tornadoes that struck the southeastern United > States left a path of complete destruction. In Alabama alone there is > more than 1,000 miles of total devastation. The death toll from the > tornadoes has reached 340, making the twisters the second most deadly > in US history. The death toll continues to rise. > * Marisa says she will pick up the first set of donations Monday at > 4* to put on a trailer going down Tuesday.
