> We invite you to submit an application for the annual Osher Lifelong 
> Learning Institute (OLLI) Scholarship.  This $1,000 scholarship award 
> is given to a student in the PhD Biosciences Program that demonstrates 
> excellence in research and education.

> All doctoral students are eligible to apply.  The applicant should 
> submit a 1,000 word maximum essay describing why they are deserving of 
> this award and cite specific meritorious achievements from their 
> graduate studies which can include coursework performance, research 
> activities, poster and oral presentations, patent applications, and 
> peer-reviewed journal publications or manuscripts in review.

> The deadline for receipt of these application essays will be April 1, 
> 2011.  Applications should be submitted as either an MS Word file or a
