We know that occasionally, one of your messages may not get published in the expected issue. If this occurs, please know that you are welcome to contact us for an explanation. However, please note that when compiling the EC-Digest each month, messages received after the 3rd day of that month will be held until the next issue. In an effort to respect your inbox size, we will we send out amendment issues (such as this one) only in rare cases where the content is of a time critical nature. As one last additional note, please be aware that we are currently considering format changes of the Digest itself. This may include the removal of the 80 character column width. We are also attempting to combine multiple messages that specify the same content, such as specific track announcements within a conference announcement that also lists the tracks. It is our hope that such actions will make the Digest easier to read, without removing any of the information that you have come to expect. Happy New Year, The EC-Digest Moderators ******************************************************************************** Sender: Dimo Brockhoff <[log in to unmask]> Subject: EMO session at MCDM'2011 and Associated Special Issue in J. of MCDA Special Session on Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization during the 21st Intl. Conference on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM 2011) June 13--17, 2011 in Jyväskylä, Finland http://emoatmcdm.gforge.inria.fr/ associated with a Special Issue "Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization: Methodologies and Applications" of the Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (Wiley) Submission deadline: January 31, 2011 (full papers and abstracts) Organizers: Dimo Brockhoff and Kalyanmoy Deb Research on evolutionary multiobjective optimization (EMO) deals---opposed to many multicriteria decision making (MCDM) approaches---with stochastic algorithms that are able to find multiple (near) Pareto-optimal solutions in a single algorithm run. The goal of the EMO session as well as of the associated special issue is to present to the general MCDM audience salient current research and application studies using evolutionary multiobjective optimization methodologies. Moreover, the special session is going to be a nice opportunity to bring together researchers from the two main research fields in multiobjective optimization and decision making in order to foster collaborations and bringing the fields of EMO and MCDM closer together. We are welcoming high quality papers in all theoretical, developmental, implementational, and applied aspects of EMO and decision making though papers focusing on combining EMO and MCDM methodologies are highly encouraged. All papers will be reviewed by at least three different reviewers according to the standards of Wiley. Authors of accepted papers will be then invited to present their work within the EMO session at the MCDM'2011 conference. Authors that would like to give a talk within the session without submitting a full paper are asked to submit an abstract (350 words max.) via the usual abstract submission system of MCDM'2011. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to * EMO for dynamic optimization * handling a large number of objectives * hybrid EMO methodologies * innovative applications * interactive EMO * multiobjectivization studies * performance metrics * preference articulation in EMO * set-based MCDM approaches * theoretical foundations of EMO * uncertainty handling Please note that, whereas the acceptance of a full paper allows to travel to Jyväskylä with the certainty of a peer-reviewed journal publication, an accepted abstract allows to give a talk only and does not guarantee a publication as no conference proceedings will be published. Note also that, though you can submit several contributions to the MCDM'2011 conference, all talks must be given by distinct authors. More details on the submission procedures can be found on the web page http://emoatmcdm.gforge.inria.fr/. o Submission deadline full papers: January 31, 2011 o Submission deadline abstracts: January 31, 2011 o Notification of acceptance: February 28, 2011 o Deadline for early-bird registration: March 15th, 2011 o Deadline for registration: May 1st, 2011 o Conference dates: June 13--17, 2011 Additional Dates related to the Special Issue: o Tentative deadline full-length papers: September 2011 o Tentative notification about acceptance: November 2011 o Expected publication date: early 2012 ******************************************************************************** (UN)SUBSCRIPTION INSTRUCTIONS: - Send submissions (articles) to [log in to unmask] DO NOT send submissions to the [log in to unmask] address. - To subscribe send email to [log in to unmask] containing the following text in the body of the message: subscribe ec-digest-l <Your Name (up to 4 words)> - To unsubscribe send email to [log in to unmask] containing the following text in the body of the message: unsubscribe ec-digest-l - To change your email address, simply unsubscribe the old address and subscribe the new one. - Send other administrative requests to [log in to unmask] - For further information about the digest, see http://ec-digest.research.ucf.edu ******************************************************************************** End of Evolutionary Computation Digest ********************************************************************************
