Dear Graduate Council Members and PhD Program Directors:

Each year, the Virginia Council of Graduate Schools hosts the Graduate
Student Research Forum. Held at the Library of Virginia, in Richmond,
the forum provides an opportunity for the public, legislators, and the
business community to hear about current graduate student research,
which promotes economic, social, and civic development in Virginia.

http://www.vacgs.net/forum.html

The Virginia Graduate Research Forum is being conducted again this year
on February 3, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. This is an event where
graduate students from the Virginia public schools share their research
with an audience that includes high level state politicians and
university leaders. It is an opportunity to publicize the high quality
research we do at Mason. We want Mason to have strong representation at
this event.

*Mason can send up to six PhD students to represent the University at
this event.* Please help me identify PhD students engaged in top quality
research who would travel to Richmond on Feb 3 to showcase their
research. We will rent a van and ride together to Richmond - at no cost
to you or the students. This is an opportunity to publicize their research.

I would appreciate it if you would forward this message to faculty and
PhD students who might be interested in this opportunity. Interested
students who should email me at [log in to unmask] by December 1, 2010. I
will send out confirmations to nominating faculty and students by
December 3.

Thanks,
Michelle Marks
