Dear Potential Oxford Honors Student:

It is with great enthusiasm that the Center for Global Education (CGE)
invites you to
apply online for the 16th Annual Oxford Honors Fall Semester
Program at the University of Oxford in England. Congratulations--it is an honor
to receive this email because it means you rank among a select group of the
very best Mason undergraduate and graduate students.

The method of instruction at Oxford is unique and world renowned.
As an Oxford student you will receive unparalled individual attention, meeting
one-on-one with two different Oxford faculty once a week. Independent research
and written papers are the basis for your weekly discussions. Subjects studied
in the past have been in the Social or Theoretical Sciences, Humanities, and

The program begins with a required short course on British History, Society
and Culture, which includes field trips. The fall 2011 program will be led by
Dr. Randy Gabel, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Integrative Studies
at New Century College. Undergraduates earn a total of 15 semester credits
while graduate students earn 9 semester credits.

Mark your calendar. Returning students are overwhelmingly enthusiastic
about the Oxford Honors experience.  Several alumni have gone on to
become Fulbright Scholars. Alumni from recent Oxford Honors programs
will hold two upcoming open meetings:

1) Tuesday, October 26, 3rd floor of the Johnson Center, Room B.
The meeting will begin promtly at 10 a.m. and last until 11:30 a.m. Come
whenever you can in that window of time.

2) Wednesday, February 9, 2011, time and location TBD.
