Dear Students:

Just a reminder that the deadline to submit a poster for the student and general posters sessions at the AAAS Annual Meeting is 11:59 pm, PT, 25 October 2010. The meeting is February 17-21, 2011 at the Washington Convention Center.  Please help us spread the word to your students about the student competition (if you have a poster, we encourage you to submit an abstract for the general session).  The poster submission site is here: http://www.aaas.org/meetings/2011/program/posters/

Student Session Aides

Undergraduate and graduate students can volunteer to ensure the meeting runs smoothly. Those who volunteer for 8 hours receive free meeting and poster session registration; those who volunteer for 16 hours also receive a one-year subscription to Science Online. Whenever possible, aides are assigned to support sessions of particular interest to them. All have the opportunity to assist, listen to, and meet a range of interesting people, including leading scientists, Nobelists, popular authors, government leaders, and media personalities. Student Session Aide registration is here: http://www.aaas.org/meetings/2011/ts/aides.shtml

Judges for the Student Poster Competition

We will be seeking scientists, professors, engineers, and other professionals to serve as judges for this competition. Poster judges receive a deeply discounted meeting registration rate ($110) and have the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the nation and around the world. Moreover, they can help mentor the next generation of scientists and engineers. If you would like to sign up to be a poster judge, please contact Kim Klyberg, Meetings Assistant, at [log in to unmask]

To learn more about our meeting visit: www.aaas.org/meetings  The online program should be available next week.

Thank you so very much for your help. If you have questions, please contact me at 202-326-6736.

Sincerely,

Jill C. Perla
