Surefoot American International School, Calabar is a newly established
international school, located in a central part of Calabar metropolis, Cross
Rivers State, Nigeria, West Africa. The School opened for the academic year
2008-2009 initially for infant care; to provide for ages 6 weeks – 3years early
childhood learning from pre kindergarten – kindergarten and elementary
school(from grade1- 5). Middle school and junior high resumes in 2009.
Nestled in the serene tourist capital of Calabar, cross rivers state of
Nigeria, Surefoot American International School is a school whose vision is to
equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be productive
citizens of the world.
Surefoot American International School is committed to developing and
maintaining a program that provides parents the peace of mind that their child
is not only getting a world class education but also is in an environment that
is safe and nurturing under the care and supervision of highly qualified and
dedicated faculty and staff.
Surefoot American International School, has Management, Administrative and
full-time teaching positions available from Aug. 4th 2009. Our new semester
begins in August and we are looking for individuals who wish to work in a fun,
creative and energetic environment where children come first.
Our core programs are English-immersion classes for all scholars. Our entire
staff speaks English and it is the medium of instruction and communication used
at all times with our students. Classes are arranged by age and the number of students
never exceeds 15 per class. Our curriculum covers a range of learning goals and
is similar to North American k-12 school programs.
$20,500 - $ 75,000 net per annum (salary range is determined by the vacant
position, qualification and experience)
1. Starting salaries for overseas teachers (specifically) range from
$30,000USD – $55,000USD and are also commensurate with experience (Executive or
directorial position position salary not incuded in estimate above)
2. Housing accommodation provided with transportation to and from work
3. Basic furnishing includes: refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, table
& chairs, sofa, bed, air conditioning and generator
4. Round trip ticket to permanent overseas address (one per school year)
5. Tuition for 1 dependent child residing in Calabar upto Grade 5
6. Sick leave – 8 days per year
7. Round trip ticket for 1 dependent child up to Grade 5 to permanent overseas
address ( one per school year)
8. Health insurance for teacher & 1 dependent child up to Grade 5 while in
Calabar
9. Baggage/ relocation allowance - $1000USD
10. Visa procurement assistance
11. Allowance for vaccinations/shots
12. All US$ figures are approximations based on the current exchange rate

- Bachelor and higher (USA school certificate) degrees in both education and
school administration
- Relevant international school experience.
School Class teachers and Specialists
- Minimum of Bachelor degree
- USA School Certification and statement of eligibility for appropriate subject
area.
- Fresh graduates can also apply

- Minimum of Bachelor degree
- USA School Certification and statement of eligibility for appropriate subject
area.
- Minimum 0f two years experience managing school property required also.
Business Manager
