Apologies, but you will need to read through the messages.  There are openings at a school in Jordan.  Katy Carter, a FT Alum is copied on this message and is a contact for the position.  Lynn

Dear Ms Lynn

Thank you for responding.

We would like to inform you that we need teachers in both the Elementary and the Secondary school, but mainly in the Secondary department.

Interested applicants can send their resumes and then they will be interviewed by either Hiba Hasan, the English coordinator in the Secondary department for grades 7-10 or Lara Sabella, the IB English coordinator.

If they need more information about the school they can visit our website www.asg.edu.jo

Sincerely

Ghada Elaydi

English Language Coordinator and Grade Five English Teacher

Hi Katy:

I’m glad that you have had such a good experience at the school in Jordan.  Please tell you supervisor that they can send to me an ad for the position and I will forward it on to the listserve.  I’m sorry that I didn’t respond sooner.  Too much e-mail to keep up with. Lynn

Hi Lynn,

This is Katy Carter, one of the many Fast Train students at GMU.  I met with you a few times last year working out courses and such as well as preparing to teach overseas in Jordan.  I have now successfully completed my first semester here at The Ahliyyah School for Girls in Amman, Jordan and it has been wonderful!  The school is great, especially the staff, and it has been an excellent opportunity for me to stretch my teaching wings.

Sadly, I will be returning home this summer and plan to teach in Fairfax again next year.  On the one hand I should be excited since I'm coming home to get married but I am very sad to leave the school here.  It's definitely bittersweet.

Of course that leaves my position at the school vacant and in need of being filled.  My supervisor and principal have asked that I contact you about how they can advertise the position to other interested Fast Train students.  The Ahliyyah School for Girls is listed in the Council for International Schools but they like to use a more direct process of finding and hiring teachers.  If you have any suggestions for how we can send out a message to those in the Fast Train program, please let my supervisor, Ghada Elaydi, know.  I have cced her on this email.

Thank you very much for your help.  I hope all is well in Fairfax and look forward to seeing you this summer.

Sincerely,
Katy

p.s.  I highly recommend this school so if anyone asks for a recommendation or inside information I would be more than happy to provide it!
