Hi Lynn,
This is Katy Carter, one of the many Fast Train students at GMU. I met
with you a few times last year working out courses and such as well as
preparing to teach overseas in Jordan. I have now successfully completed
my first semester here at The Ahliyyah School for Girls in Amman, Jordan and it
has been wonderful! The school is great, especially the staff, and it has
been an excellent opportunity for me to stretch my teaching wings.
Sadly, I will be returning home this summer and plan to teach in Fairfax again
next year. On the one hand I should be excited since I'm coming home to
get married but I am very sad to leave the school here. It's definitely
bittersweet.
Of course that leaves my position at the school vacant and in need of being
filled. My supervisor and principal have asked that I contact you about
how they can advertise the position to other interested Fast Train
students. The Ahliyyah School for Girls is listed in the Council for
International Schools but they like to use a more direct process of finding and
hiring teachers. If you have any suggestions for how we can send out a
message to those in the Fast Train program, please let my supervisor, Ghada
Elaydi, know. I have cced her on this email.
Thank you very much for your help. I hope all is well in Fairfax and look
forward to seeing you this summer.
Sincerely,
Katy
p.s. I highly recommend this school so if anyone asks for a
recommendation or inside information I would be more than happy to provide it!
