Hello, DAEN Students!
As we move into the end of the Spring 2023 term, I want to wish everyone the best of luck on your final exams or projects. I hope the semester has been productive and fruitful for you, and I just wanted to reach out with a few updates
to keep in mind as we move towards the summer term.
Registration Updates:
Summer 2023 Classes/Registration:
Classes are filling up, so if you intend to take summer classes, please come for advising and register as soon as you can.
I will be working and available for advising during the summer, but I will be out of the office and unavailable from
Tuesday May 23rd to May 29th 2023.
This will occur during the beginning of the full summer term, so please plan to meet with me in advance of May 23rd if you want to discuss Summer courses or registration.

If you have concerns about my availability or if you have trouble with the appointment scheduling system, send me an email, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.
Fall 2023 Classes/Registration:
Fall registration is in full swing, and as most of you know, many Fall classes are already full. If you have not already tried to register, please do so as soon as possible so that you’re able to secure seats in the best possible courses
for you. If you need assistance with that process, I’m always here to help. A few key things to keep in mind about Fall registration:

Program Restrictions/Reserved Seats: Several students have come to me about GBUS courses that are closed (with only reserved seats remaining) or courses that have program restrictions. Be aware that if a course is listed as ‘Closed Reserved’ that means
those seats are not available to be registered for by any students. They’re usually reserved for students in specific majors. If a class such as an ECE or HAP course has a ‘Program Restriction,’ that is a restriction placed by the department offering the course.
Sometimes one section will be available to our students and another section of the same course may be reserved for students in another major. This is very common. Feel free to reach out to me for support when you encounter a situation like this, but know I
may need to divert extensive questions to the department offering the course.

Important Note for International Students on Online Classes: There have been recent updates to online course enrollment rules. At the moment, we are telling students on F1 or J1 visas to enroll in no more than one online class. The other two courses
should be face-to-face or hybrid face-to-face. More information about this change is available here:

Graduation Notices:
Spring 2023 Graduating Students:
Congratulations to our Spring 2023 graduating class! Everyone in the program wants to send you warm wishes and our sincerest thanks for all your hard work. The Spring 2023 Capstone presentations were impressive as always. If you are planning
to graduate in Spring and have not already checked on your graduation status with your advisor, please check your
Degree Evaluation to confirm it reflects your graduation status. Your graduation status be found next to the Graduation Status field in the first block. If you see an issue with
your status, I’m likely already monitoring it, but please reach out to me at
[log in to unmask] directly so we can discuss your graduation status.
Summer 2023 Graduating Students:
Congratulations in advance to our summer 2023 grads. If you have not already applied to graduate in the summer term, please do so as soon as possible. Reach out to me directly if you have questions about this process, or
