Dear PhD students,
I hope your semester is off to a good start!
Obviously (mostly) virtual settings requied by the social distancing
measures require some changes in our interactions, but hopefully we
will have a successful semester ahead.
In this e-mail, I want to once again draw your attention to the CS Virtual
Research Day which will take place on Friday, September 11, 10 AM - 2 PM.
** You can find the details of the event in the attached pdf. ** It is a
great opportunity to get to know more about on-going research projects in the
department (including those of the new faculty). The panels will offer
great insight in current research trends in sub-areas of Computer Science.
You need to register to attend, by Friday September 4 (tomorrow!): please
Important Note: ** For PhD CS students who started in Fall 19, Spring 20,
or Fall 20, attendance is mandatory. ** If you can't attend all the sessions
due to some other commitments (such as GTA duties), then you can attend partially.
However, when you connect to the meeting, please logon using your full
name (e.g., enter "Joe Smith" as your name instead of "J. Smith.").
If you started in Fall'19 or later, but you can't make to the Virtual
Research Day due to unexpected circumstances, please inform me in advance
by e-mail ([log in to unmask]).
