Subject: Launching Lipizzaner project (Distributed Co-Evolutionary GAN Training)

We are launching the Lipizzaner framework to train Generative
Adversarial Networks by using spatially distributed co-evolutionary
algorithms. Most of the information is on our website at
http://secure-web.cisco.com/1P-c-zJYL4eKe5QbCy5bHX3jbkjCZ1lbgj73nTflbOLOvyJf6Y9TZsR0Bvbic-TOcaY3ouVlRlYoFXuRrsCBsvp-aYT7VjPAoNPWIl38zjX5upJs40L-5A1Rdqz7vYQ9Ein5uI7WPC-SCU7QaP4tagDCNOF60bEKV3GoFlv2H6sq6S3bPVRtSREeemL8GFIRp1UtMUNSI7pl0hRCST9_GffUWo_tfnwK9JDTXs9dXIsfKqyYkoVmV5TaGl_sAElGctZlGLYwCmKp23-YxUhnoK3rpamlGncC2TpLXTXksaS_CK6ZEG0RtjM-q0Z0CXD8zyP358vbTmf_vK9wckP-Kt0KbChp3gRbjUU8al6HBLGeINi-K9oaA_1EJAPJV3T64ycFHZkmpGA6UxeeekMSs3U1VAq7bgPlVgmzb_qnmHZus7EIC9ZZTz1cbd6C8LJ0ukmnVCOjRHSQRVIJIFdFBwQ/http%3A%2F%2Flipizzaner.csail.mit.edu%2F

At the Anyscale Learning For All (ALFA) research team at CSAIL MIT, we
have designed and developed Lipizzaner framework to provide resilient
and robust GAN training. Lipizzaner is open-source and it is freely
available in our GitHub repository
(https://secure-web.cisco.com/1Q-UJshbIgMqHwFG3y4O0biwrn2zJDK4uxQT6mgr7Ia-QouF-5v_wPIjgc4YsGZ83HO_jvoQpeEIvCbIRnBnkEVLqMON1Yvzznz_H2ldsbhx0pvBMaG92_DZmsQZ29nb_QGuia3VXNshuOTo5bxQ8V6h4onrrDcNB7C1C9PP5c-n3YG4pj63XNkNhoLoMx9oSIThl6o3hxVSIO72MflVLy9Xydkfhw1oXnJJFK0SXolrTy31Z3IgX6OnRi9r3nqW2GwzF6AKArBuIAQTfzr51SOCulUPAVc05RjzsJBP1md3oshefvgPLmFczRQ7ajivjLQm-Kyg-Q_kMsXVlD6OpgR-VfmBlEUo5ktEiJdJjRBAk-Y3Xc7k-hSzxQ_F-QPIfk4tpykcenGZgTdjKHKxMAN06ruKabFkJnveJN-pqiqEdgJLrDSQK_xYdCI6qTkgdTrAQJBFPNzNUuF1WWlHjVQ/https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2FALFA-group%2Flipizzaner-gan%29.

An overview of Lipizzaner can be found in the following Medium post:

The main features of Lipizzaner are:
- Fast convergence because the weights are updated by gradient-based steps
- Improved convergence due to training hyperparameters evolution
- Diverse sample generation because the method returns a mixture of
generators trained by using EC
- Scalability due to spatial distribution topology and asynchronous parallelism
- Robustness and resilience

It includes a number of datasets ready to be used: CIFAR-10, MNIST,
MNIST-Fashion, CelebA, SVHN, Chest X-Ray COVID-19 images, etc.

In the following days, we will post a series of tutorials and new documentation.

Get updated. Follow us on twitter: @LipizzanerGAN

PS: We are tweaking Lipizzaner 2.0.... so, we will launch really soon

EvoStar comprises four co-located conferences run each spring at
different locations throughout Europe. These events arose out of
workshops originally developed by EvoNet, the Network of Excellence in
Evolutionary Computing, established by the Information Societies
Technology Programme of the European Commission, and they represent a
continuity of research collaboration stretching back over 20 years.

EvoStar is organised by SPECIES, the Society for the Promotion of
Evolutionary Computation in Europe and its Surroundings. This
non-profit academic society is committed to promoting evolutionary
algorithmic thinking, with the inspiration of parallel algorithms
derived from natural processes. It provides a forum for information
and exchange.

The four conferences include:
