Looks like a stupid bug.  As a first cut, try replacing the PieChartSeriesAttributes.getElements() method with:

    Object[] getElements()
        {
        if (elements != null) return elements;
        else if (elements2 != null) return elements2.toArray();
        else return null;
        }
