In my course, for both PCs and Macs, we don't use the Mason Jars. We unzip
the Mason code into a directory. Then we open Eclipse and create a Mason
project. In the Mason directory, we grab the ec and sim folders and copy or
drag them into the src folder in our new project. One of the new packages
should look like "sim.ant.antsforage". If not, you grabbed at the wrong
level, so start over. Some packages (and hence every linked run) will have
errors if Java3D or jmf aren't loaded properly, but those can be ignored or
dealt with separately for most purposes.
For every project in which we use Mason, we just go to Properties,
Buildpath, and Projects, and then add the Mason project.
This gives us ready access to the Mason code and examples, as well as making
Mason work in our programs. I find this works well for other Java toolsets,
such as JFreeChart.

Building 3D support for the Mac is a matter of grabbing a bunch of jar files
from the jogamp website, and dumping them in as well (see the MASON web page
for rough instructions).
