I am presently running 10.9.5, and have Java3D working just fine.

I have the following jar files:

http://cs.gmu.edu/~sean/temp/j3d.zip

Move these files to the /Library/Java/Extensions/ directory.

I'm running the SVN version of MASON, but the mason.18.jar file you have should be fine.
