Dear PhD IT students:

Today is the first day for registration for the Spring 2014 semester for 
graduate students.

If you are registering for IT 998, or IT 999 for the Spring 2014 
semester, please do not forget to submit the Progress Report Form to our 
office after you obtain your advisor's signature. I would strongly 
suggest that you meet with your advisor BEFORE the end of this semester 
to discuss your progress and obtain the necessary signature, as often 
faculty are not available in between semesters and over the winter break.

You should be communicating with your dissertation advisor on a regular 
basis; the sooner you complete the form, the sooner you can register for 
next semester and not have to worry about it. If you have not been in 
communication with your dissertation advisor, use this time to schedule 
a meeting to discuss where you are in the process so you can get and 
keep yourself on-track.
