No other program in offered during your time at Mason will better
provide you with a rigorous and vigorous intellectual experience than
the Center for Global Educationís Oxford Honors Program.
Enrollment in this semester program is by invitation only. Receiving
this email means you have met the conditions of enrollment and are part
of a select group of students who are invited to participate in the
application process for admission to the program.
If accepted into the Oxford Honors program, you will take part in the
traditional tutorial experience. These tutorials are similar to directed
reading and research courses. Your Tutor provides bibliographies, essay
topics, and critiques of your work. You spend your time researching and
writing about your favorite topics. Administered in conjunction with the
Oxford Programme for Undergraduate Study, participants have an academic
advisor and access to social, cultural and athletic activities through
an affiliation with one of the 40 plus Oxford Colleges.
Next application information session will be held January 29, 3:00 pm in
Johnson Center room 234. An information session with Program Alumni will
be held February 6, 2013 - 6:30 pm Johnson Center Meeting Room B. This
is a great opportunity to hear from your peers who have just come back
from their Oxford experience! Was it worth it? "My Oxford experience was
absolutely perfect! I only wish I could have stayed for a whole year!"
