Subject: Students as Scholars Track B Scholarship Development Grants
Dear Colleagues,
Many of you have contacted us because you are interested in redesigning your
curriculum to include more student scholarship (undergraduate research and
creative activities) as we define in the Students as Scholars initiative.
Specific information about the Track B and Track C Scholarship Development
Grants is now available on the blog
http://studentsasscholarsgmu.blogspot.com/ (see the link under Important
Links at the top, if you don't want to read all the posts, even if they are
very interesting!). Please also pass this information along to colleagues
who might be interested.
Track B, Curriculum Development, will include two parts. The primary
application will be to support teams attending a workshop to help
departments work on their overall undergraduate curricular plan with respect
to the Students as Scholars student learning outcomes. The secondary
application will be for funding to help support the creation or revision of
specific courses, based on your plan.
Track C, Collaborative Projects, is available to help support scholarly
projects involving undergraduates that are cross-disciplinary,
co-curricular, or otherwise don't fit neatly into a single academic
department.
The deadlines for the applications is February 3rd, and we'll hold a
Question and Answer session on January 17th at 11am in the Robeson Room of
the Johnson Center.
