Hi Folks,

I wanted to let you know about the upcoming, online training event listed below. The title has an appropriate amount of hyperbole that I hope piques your interest.

The workshop is scheduled two times next week on 10/19 from 4-5pm and 10/21 from 10-11am.

TRES 201: Teaching with Elluminate Better Than Face-to-Face: Techniques for Facilitating Effective Synchronous Learning Activities
Location: Virtual Campus - NET NET

Description: Virtual communication and collaboration is a key component of any 21st century learning environment. Web conferencing tools are being used to hold live, online meetings, interactive presentations, just-in-time training, and remote support. In this highly interactive "we-binar", you will be introduced to some of the most useful teaching tools within Elluminate, observe good practices, and learn a few "tricks of the trade" for using them. The tools that will be covered in this session are: Application Sharing, Web Tours, Polling, and Shared White Boarding. A goal of the session is to demonstrate skills required to perform the E-Moderator role.

Preparations: Elluminate will be used for the meeting and access instructions will be emailed a couple days before the meeting. Internet access required. A headset with a boom microphone is preferred, but headphones and a separate mic will work. You are welcome to attend without one of these audio setups, but while you can hear the presenter and others, you will only be able to ask questions via text chat.

Instructor: Richard A. Reo
Offered by: ID - Instructional Design
Intended Audience: Fac/Staff
