Undergraduate Apprenticeship Program Summer 2011 Applications Now Available
Deadline: April 1, 2011
Application website: uap.gmu.edu
Faculty members and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit
applications for the Summer 2011 Undergraduate Faculty-Student
Apprenticeship Program (UAP).
Scholarly projects on which faculty and students work closely together
throughout the semester will be selected in a competitive process. Selected
students will receive $1,000 plus $100 for expenses.
The program is designed to encourage Mason’s high-achieving undergraduate
students to become involved in research and creative projects early in their
academic careers under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
In addition to meeting and working closely with their faculty members,
students will meet as a group three times during the semester to discuss
professional development issue, including preparing for graduate school,
finding funding for graduate school, designing a poster or other
professional presentation, and writing abstracts.
