Part-time Opportunity for Students


Special Collections&  Archives has an opening for an Archival
Assistant to assist SC&A staff in describing and digitizing photograph
collections. We are looking for a responsible, engaged,
detail-oriented student with an interest in working with historical
collections.


Archival Assistant, 12 hours / week ($12.00/hr) will assist with
selective digitization and description of the Oliver F. Atkins
Photograph Collection and the Arthur Scott Photograph Collection. The
assistant will also create and update metadata records using Dublin
Core. Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 35 lbs., climb ladders, and
reach shelves required. Basic computer skills and strong writing
skills needed; work experience in an archival setting, databases, and
scanning technology are desirable. Preference will be given for
candidates that can work through the 2010-2011 academic year.
