Software Engineer
Join the Harris team to help design and develop cutting edge communications
and information processing software systems! Our software engineers produce
state of the art systems and products in support of many domains and varied
technologies. We build systems in healthcare, weather processing, air
traffic control, law enforcement, aircraft avionics, satellite
communications, wireless, cyber defense, environmental, and utilities. We
have expertise in image processing, signal processing, simulation and
training, enterprise-level information systems, storage and dissemination,
antenna control, robotics, software defined radios, and user interfaces.
Network Planning Engineer
Monitor for, analyze and troubleshoot network problems within an operations
center utilizing network management and monitoring tools. Use tools and
procedures to monitor, analyze, and baseline voice and data networks. Employ
test methods to analyze channelized/unchannelized T1, T3, utilizing DACs
equipment. Work with Local Exchange Carriers, ILECs, IXCs to resolve WAN
problems. Work with onsite technicians remotely to resolve local issues.
Resolve problems using internal and external groups, as needed, to correct
trouble on the network and interact with the customer. Experience or course
work in WAN/LAN, TDM and Voice switching systems. Domain knowledge of data
protocols including TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM and specific routing protocols
such as OSPF, BGP and RIP. Experience or course work in VoIP, CTI and/or VPN
technologies. Thorough understanding of signaling protocols, TDM
framing/timing, and IP based networks, and SONET infrastructure. Knowledge
of emerging transmission standards such as OC-192, DWMD, MPLS, 10 Gig
Ethernet and associated hardware desired. Position is part of a 24x7 network
control environment. Shift and workday flexibility is required.
Information Security Systems Engineer
Responsible for analyzing and/or administering security controls for
information systems. Safeguard the network against unauthorized
infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. Implement and enforce
company security policies. Manage the company's firewalls and intrusion
detection systems. Provide incident response, analysis and reporting per
policies and procedures. Provide support to review, assess and document
vulnerabilities to improve the security posture of the information systems.
Shift work required for some positions.
