Workshop on Evolutionary Algorithms - Challenges in Theory and Practice
March 29, 2010, Bordeaux, France
Deadline for abstract submission: March 15, 2010
Registration deadline: March 26, 2010
Aims and mission
The main goal of the workshop consists in offering a common discussion ground
for the theoretical and practical aspects of evolutionary algorithms. A variety
of theoretical studies on stochastic evolutionary type algorithms are
acknowledged through a series of mathematical developments in parallel with a
new range of specialized metaheuristics. The primary focus lies on discussing
the existing findings, establishing challenging aspects for both communities for
future work and validating recent ideas. The workshop is an extension of the
ALEA working group, gathering researchers working on Advanced Learning
No registration fee is charged but participants are asked to register before the
workshop, for organizational purposes, by email at [log in to unmask] or

The program of the event is almost complete. Nevertheless, researchers working
on challenging aspects of evolutionary algorithms are invited to submit a title
(a short abstract outlining the topics of your presentation is appreciated),
since few proposals (2 or 3) can still be included in the schedule.
Please make sure to contact us before mid-March by email at

hosted at The 5th International ICST Conference on Bio-Inspired Models of
Network, Information, and Computing Systems (BIONETICS 2010)
Boston, MA, USA
December 1 - 3, 2010
As software engineering is requested to answer dynamic, automated, adaptive,
optimal and/or large-scale demands, other computer science disciplines come to
play. Artificial Intelligence is one of them that may bring software engineering
into further height. Conversely, software engineering techniques also play an
important role to alleviate development cost and time of AI techniques as well
as assist in introducing new AI techniques. Such mutually beneficial
characteristics have appeared in the past few decades and still evolved due to

Subject: Evolutionary Intelligence: Special Issue on Alan Turing
CALL FOR PAPERS
In 1948 Alan Turing wrote a short paper entitled "Intelligent Machinery" in
which he drew an analogy between learning and search. Significantly, he
suggested that intellectual, genetical and cultural searches may all be used to
inspire mechanisms by which to achieve machine intelligence. 2012 sees the
centenary of Turing's birth and to join in the celebrations of his remarkable
contributions to computer science and artificial intelligence, Evolutionary
Intelligence will publish a special issue in January of that year. Submissions
are welcomed which use simulated evolution in conjunction with other ideas of
Turing's, such as his unorganised machines, to achieve artificial intelligence.
Details of the journal can be found online:
http://www.springer.com/engineering/journal/12065 The deadline for submissions
is Dec 1st 2010. Please see

Paper submission deadline: APRIL 30, 2010
= Conference Objective =
Hybridization of intelligent systems is a promising research field of modern
artificial/computational intelligence concerned with the development of the next
generation of intelligent systems. A fundamental stimulus to the investigations
of Hybrid Intelligent Systems (HIS) is the awareness in the academic communities
that combined approaches will be necessary if the remaining tough problems in
artificial/computational intelligence are to be solved. Recently, Hybrid
Intelligent Systems are getting popular due to their capabilities in handling
several real world complexities involving imprecision, uncertainty and
vagueness. HIS'10 builds on the success of last year's HIS'09, which took place
in Shenyang, China, August 12-14, 2009.
HIS'10 is the Tenth International conference that brings together researchers,
developers, practitioners, and users of soft computing, computational
intelligence, agents, logic programming, and several other intelligent computing
techniques. The aim of HIS'10 is to serve as a forum to present current and
future work as well as to exchange research ideas in this field.
HIS'10 invites authors to submit their original and unpublished work that
demonstrate current research using soft computing, computational intelligence
