Dear Students,

As the end of the semester nears you might be curious to see how far along
you are in your degree program. Please remember that you can always check
your progress with your general education, educational contract (if your
contract has been approved), BIS Core, and upper level requirements by
utilizing the Degree Evaluation option in Patriot Web. It is recommended that
you run a degree evaluation before registering for classes each semester to
ensure you know where you need to fill requirements. If you practice this
strategy, you are more likely be on top of your degree plan. Below are the
steps on how to run a degree evaluation in Patriot Web:

* Login to Patriot Web
* Click on the "Student Services" tab
* Click on "Student Records"
* Click "Degree Evaluation"
* Select term (choose the next term you are registered for)
   o Note: If you are registered for courses in the summer and fall semesters,
select Fall 2010.
* At the bottom of the screen, click "What-if Analysis"
* For your entry term, select the term that you first attended classes are GMU
   o Note: If you entered GMU in 2001 or prior, select Fall 2002 as your entry
term
* For program, select "BIS Individualized Study" from the list and continue
* On the next page:
   o Campus - leave blank
   o First Major - Select "Individualized Study and Department"
   o Click Submit
* On the next page, for evaluation term select "Fall 2010"
   o Again, if you are registered for courses in the summer and fall semesters,
select Fall 2010.
* Make sure the "Use In-Progress Courses" box is checked
* Click "Generate Request"
* Select "Detail Requirements" and submit
* Voila! - you can now view what requirements are filled and where you're in
need of more credits

As always, if you ever have questions or receive any kind of error message
that you can't figure out please contact the department at 703-993-4556 or
