normal work as PhD director and advisor.  If you are having trouble 
finding a dissertation advisor, if you are having difficult issues with 
your advisor or committee, if you are having personal issues that may 
impact your studies, please consider me a resource--a 
problem-solver--available to help with any and all issues.  I am more 
than willing to keep any issues we discuss confidential.

Keeping everybody on track toward successful completion of their degree 
is an important part of my job, and one that I take very seriously.  
Please don't feel yourself flailing away with nobody to help.  Please 
come see me when needed.
