Yes, I have one.

Currently, GMU states that a grad student must be enrolled in 4.5  
credits to be considered part-time. This is necessary to maintain a  
part-time status as defined by the Feds as well, vital for those who  
have student loans to pay back.

The History Department only offers 3 credit and one 1 credit course  
(the colloquium). So in order to maintain part-time status, a student  
is forced to take two full courses, or find a 1 credit course in some  
other graduate program.

It would be helpful if colloquium was 1.5 credits, or the History  
department offered another 1 credit course (like a New Media  
colloquium - we do have one of the largest history and new media  
centers in the world, but no forum or such for the grad students to  
discuss and learn???) or get GMU to change their policy to 4 credits  
for part-time status.
