Dear PhD Students and Faculty,

Allow me to take a moment to recognize PhD student Lee Ann Ghajar who
was one of the Cosmos Club Foundation's 2009 Young Scholars Award
winners. These awards have been presented annually since 1998,
providing grants to graduate students at twelve Washington-area
universities to meet unexpected and otherwise unsupported aspects of
their research. Lee Ann was one of 24 Cosmos Scholars selected from a
field of 241 applicants for her research on "Tredegar Iron Works:
Industrial Survival and Growth in the South from Reconstruction through
the Gilded Age."

More information can be found at
http://www.cosmosclubfoundation.org/index.html.

Congratulations to Lee Ann!

Steve
