Per the announcement below, the Nguyen Engineering Building will be locked
from 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2011 through 6:00 am on Tuesday,
January 3, 2012.  If you already have exterior door swipe card access, you
will be able to swipe into the building.  
However, if you have students who will need access to the building over the
winter break, there is a form to complete to give exterior door  access for
that period only. The form is attached and must be signed by the Department
Chair or Center Director.

Academic and Administrative Buildings on Lock-Down during Winter Break

The University will be closed for the winter break from 6:00 pm on Thursday,
December 22, 2011 through 6:00 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.  As a result
all academic and administrative buildings (with a few exceptions) will be on
lock-down throughout this period.  The access control system will be
programmed to secure these buildings, and they will be patrolled by our
staff throughout the holiday break. 

The Police Department recognizes that many staff members and some students
will need access to these locked buildings, so have established a protocol
for requesting access.  All requests for special needs and students must be
pre-approved and authorized in advance by the responsible faculty member.
