Attached is our rolling 12-month report through September 2020. It continues to show COVID effects, especially for the Rapid Prototyping Research Center, some of whose awards have been delayed. We anticipate our performance will stabilize and begin to climb by the end of 2020.
Expenses: Expenses were $55.5M for 12 months ending September 2020 down from $68.7M for 12 months ending September 2019. A few bright spots: CEIE and ME had record expenditures, the new CYSE Department recorded its first expenditures, BENG’s expenditures rose in the last year, and SEOR had its highest expenditures in almost a year.
Indirect: Indirect recovery was $6.7M for 12 months ending September 2020 up from $6.4M for 12 months ending September 2019. Tracking with record expenditures, CEIE and ME had record indirect recovery.
Awards: Awards totaled $65M for 12 months ending September 2020 down from $71.3M for 12 months ending September 2019. The ECE Department received record awards. Also, the Learning Agents Center and SEOR Department awards rose in the last year.
Proposals: Proposals totaled $139.1M for 12 months ending September 2020 down from $505.9M for 12 months ending September 2019. The latter number includes one mammoth proposal for over $300M which skews that figure. The ME Department submitted record proposals.
