This report covers the period June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2021. As we near the end of FY21, which is June 30, CEC’s overall performance continues to slowly recover from COVID-induced challenges.

I am pleased to announce that this month’s report now includes numbers for CEC’s newest research center: Center of Trusted, Accelerated, and Secure Computing and Communication (C-TASC).

Expenditures: We had $63.5M in expenditures compared to $61.6M for the 12-month period ending May 31, 2020. BENG and the Dean’s Office set records. CARE had the best expenditures since January 2020. CSIS and RPRC had the best expenditures since July 2020. ME had the best expenditures since February 2019.

Awards: We had $69.1M in awards compared to $52.7M a year ago. SEOR and Statistics both set records.

Proposals: We had $161.1M in proposals compared to $153.2M a year ago. CS set a record with over $31M. BENG had its highest proposal value since August 2020. C4I&Cyber Center had its highest proposal value since April 2020. IST had its highest proposal value since June 2020.

Indirect: We received $7.2M in indirect compared to $6.5M a year ago. We have now received over $7M annually for each of the 12-month periods ending March, April, and May 2021.

Regards.
