[At the university, patents, technology transfer, and other aspects of
intellectual property have been handled through GMIP (George Mason
Intellectual Property). GMIP's role is being expanded and its name is
being changed to the George Mason Research Foundation (GMRF). This Town
Hall is an opportunity to learn more about the new organization and its
capabilities.]
Please join a town hall meeting with the Vice President for Research and
Economic Development, and the President of the George Mason Intellectual
Properties, Inc. Monday, February 25th, 10:00 AM, Johnson Center Room G.
The purpose of this informal, highly interactive meeting format is to
solicit faculty ideas and opinions in crafting the future of GMIP as it
evolves from a nearly exclusive focus on intellectual property
management to the broader mission of a George Mason Research Foundation
(GMRF), as directed by its Board of Directors. Your active and ongoing
participation as key stakeholders in GMRF are vitally important to its
success. It is anticipated that interested members of the Board of
Visitors and the GMRF Board will also be present.
